Fade to Black Dance Ensemble was founded in 1991 on the campus of Texas A&M University by several African-American young women. Since it's birth, Fade to Black's diversity has grown by leaps and bounds including members from all over and of many different backgrounds; it is that appreciation of an individual's uniqueness and culture that makes Fade to Black Dance Ensemble a stand-out and stand-up organization. Today Fade to Black has had the honor of performing at Texas A&M's legendary Fish Camp, Songfest, EXCEL conference and various other activities and events. Fade to Black has always been well known for the unique hip-hop dances that define its cultural basis however, members of Fade to Black are always versatile. Genres performed by Fade to Black are: Hip-hop, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Pointe, Spiritual, Salsa, and African. Fade to Black will continue on this path to success while uplifting the African American community through dance and hopefully one day becoming an Aggie tradition.
